The End Is Always Near

Jim Morrison, not the doomsayers, had it right. The end of time is imminent for we each must meet our last day and the life we lead during our time determines our legacy. In reality, a world comes to an end everytime a person leaves or dies or something passes from our midst.

Yet life exists beyond time as well as physical matter.  So the greater question is not when our world will end – it will – or how, but, are we ready for a new beginning?

that’s a wise question George; perhaps the Mayans just wanted us to think of it this way instead of waiting by the clock:)

Wise words in such a brief statement. And anyone who mentions Jim Morrison in a positive way is all right by me.

Hi George. I live with a life threatening medical condition and I think about death a fair bit…usually focused on how to stay away from it and keep one step ahead. At the same time, I am looking forward to the next stage but I’d like my kids to grow up first. That might sound like a bit of a downer but it’s actually quite positive because we really live our lives to the full and we know what we have.

Hi Rowena, we obviously need to make the most of our time here. With heightened awareness comes greater appreciation. Seems odd to me that so many people go through life as if they will live forever (in the world, anyway) and they miss subtle though perhaps special elements or experiences and relationships.
Looks like you have a good perspective on things and I certainly wish you all the best. Looking forward to following your blog, too!
