The Sun Also Rises

There’s a time for everything.  But will we be ready when the right time comes?

Patience, fortitude and preparation lay a good foundation.  While it is true that we cannot relive a moment, we can repeat it.  Afterall, we do it everyday when the sun rises.  A passing moment taken by itself can be simply lost, but taken one after another it never really ends; indeed it grows, and taken all together the moments build a life, ultimately the very sum of our lives.

Everything is connected, some things united.  We need to find meaning in all relationships (metaphysically, all things exist in relation to all other things) and define what is important based on a well informed disposition in order to realize peace.

Even though pushing against a stone makes us stronger, only divine power can move it.  But why?  Why bother?  This Buddhist saying was shared with me by a Jesuit priest some years ago:

“The student asked the master how he could hasten enlightenment. The Master replied that one could hasten enlightenment no more than one could hasten the sunrise. Why then, asked the student, do we do all this sitting and discipline? We do it, was the reply, so that when the sun rises we are awake.“

Thanks, Hope! People are often so busy with life that they don’t take time to really think about life. Happy to share these thoughts and delighted that you stopped by.

Oh I love that last quote! How beautiful! And the part where you say all things are connected but some are united. Brilliant 🙂

Thanks, Ingrid! That quote definitely puts things in context. Glad you like that part about connected and united…kind of strikes a balance. 🙂

Sunday morning, a great read to start my day. So true, so true… ever on the path to staying awake, ever Be-ing whether I know it or not. I’m experiencing a great release of the old, the not-living in me, and just now, I feel a great sense of gratitude for the gift of being alive. Thank you, George. Namaste’.

I can’t think of any greater compliment or encouragement than that! Life turns in cycles with changes that are often unforeseen or even understood. Sometimes we just need to wait, or endure, long enough to see light manifest. Elevate and celebrate!
