ELEVATE & CELEBRATE

Blog Hiatus and Prayers

Dear Friends,

Nothing in life is more precious than sharing time with those whom we love, especially as together we watch the last grains of sand drift through the hourglass. With this in mind, I will be on hiatus from blogging while I join my ill father in recounting the sands of a joyful life.

Prayers for my family will be greatly appreciated. I will try to catch up with each of you as circumstances allow and I certainly look forward to visiting again soon.

Wishing you all the best,
George

  9. George ~ (just now reading this) — never an easy time for the one who is ill or those who gather to support in a journey that is full of questions. Sending you all wishes of strength, as well as calm. Peace be with all of you ~ a

    1. Thanks, Angela! A wise observation and I certainly appreciate your kindness. It is indeed a unique journey, one which if I recall correctly you have also walked. We’ve enjoyed many laughs along with many reflections so far! Peace

  10. I just read this now, George. I hope all turned out better than your post implies.

    1. Thanks for the warm hugs, Francina. At the time I posted this we had just learned that the doctors had done all they could and all we could do was help my father be as comfortable as possible. We were fortunate to spend a great deal of time together reminiscing and working on projects during the ensuing weeks, which was good for both of us, and we were together at the last hour when he passed in mid-March. Even so, we could spend all the time possible and still want more.
My dad fought a gallant fight against cancer for three years so knowing that his pain is now past combined with faith that he is in heaven brings comfort.
I very much appreciate your kindness!

      1. Dear George, I’m sorry to hear about your loss even though it is good to know that you could spent as much time as possible together. There is never time enough to share, it seems . And even when we know we will lose someone we love, the missing will be the same.
Belated , but my most sincere condolences for you and your family.
May your father rest in peace now when his fight is over.
        hugs , Francina

      2. Thank you very much, Francina. I have many wonderful memories to reflect on…all the more reason to cherish our moments together.
        All the best, George
